Validating AI & Robotics Solutions for the Agri-Food Sector across Europe
agrifoodTEF is a European network (both physical and digital facilities / nodes) offering test‐and‐validation infrastructures for AI and robotics in the agri-food sector. Its goal is to help innovators move from idea/prototype toward market‐ready solutions by validating them in real, near‐realistic conditions. The services include verifying performance, reliability, safety, and applicability of AI/robotics under field, greenhouse, livestock, food processing, horticulture, etc. It supports small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in particular. The project started officially on 1 January 2023, with duration until December 2027.

Key features
- Real‐world validation and testing services (field, greenhouse, livestock, food processing, etc.) for AI & robotics solutions
- Physical facilities (“nodes”) plus digital infrastructure
- Targeting SMEs and innovators, helping narrow gap between idea and market
Funding
- Co-funded by the European Union, via the Digital Europe Programme, Grant Agreement No. 101100622
- Total EU co-funding for the project: about €30 million
